Purpose of role

The DevOps Engineer will work close with the Integrations Architects, microservice developers or cells and coordinate tasks, apply guidelines and ensure the right procedure for production grade rollouts.

Cores responsibilities

• Capture and analyze use cases, requirements by gathering all the pieces of information delivering the right technology choice based on Millicom’s framework.

• Collaborate to design and deploy pipelines following the architecture guidelines and principles defined in Millicom’s framework.

• Manage rollout process CI/CD.

• Guide the teams to solve cases, issues, doubts, or concerns by proper escalation for resolution.

• Create integration and dependency mapping and governance writing specifications, scripts and standard document.

• Work with functional and technical teams to ensure effective delivery of software following Millicom’s change management process.

• Evaluate, prototype, propose tools and artifacts it could improve Millicom’s frameworks.

Qualifications

• Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Developer or similar.

• 3+ years of system administrator experience Linux.

• 2+ years working with containers over Kubernetes and service mesh.

• 2+ years operating Kubernetes clusters.

• Kubernetes certified.

• 2+ years hands on gitOps/subversion methodology and technologies.

• Deep understanding of Cloud Native principles and landscape.

• Demonstrable experience of work with Cloud, IaaS.

• Strong knowledge of IP Network fundamentals.

• Agile methodologies courses desirable.

• 1+ year developer experience low-mid level desirable.

• Desirable microservice architecture patterns.

• Intermediate / Advanced English

• Knowledge of agile methodologies
